Venture capital - early stage investment

Venture capital investment is defined as private equity raised for investment in companies; management buyouts, management buyins and venture purchase of quoted shares are excluded. Data are broken down into two investment stages: Early stage (seed + start-up) and expansion and replacement (expansion and replacement capital). Present data shows early stage investment and presented as percentage on GDP.
