Societal welfare stands as an important objective of the Green Economy. Thus, a population with a prolonged number of healthy life years helps to achieve welfare goals and lowers the need for overall healthcare provisioning.

Potential misinterpretation: 
The higher the number of healthy life years count, the better it is, naturally, for an economy paradigm. Given the subjective, non-medical, opinions of survey respondents, and the literature on respondent behaviour, the self-assessed component can skew the overall objectivity of the method. In other words, the quality of life perceived by respondents may be exaggerated or inaccurate.
