Average scores by country from responses to a question on the European Quality of Life Survey which asks respondents to rate the quality of public services in their country on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means very poor quality and 10 means very high quality.

Description to get data: 

Click on link, then click on white drop down arrow at left hand side of grey box at top of page which appears below the 'European Quality of Life Survey 2012' title. The drop down arrow brings up a list of survey questions, scroll down the list to 'How would you rate the quality of public transport in your country?' under the heading 'Health and public services'.

Contribution to the green economy: 

Better ratings of the quality public transport indicate that citizens within a Green Economy are better able to efficiently get to their places of work and access services, and at a significantly lower energy and emissions rate than by using personal transport (cars etc).

Potential misinterpretation: 
Assessed quality of public transport should not be confused with people's rating of the easiness of their access to public services, which is another indicator on the European Quality of Life Survey.
