    Best-worst possible life (life satisfaction)

    Average response to question "Let's suppose the top of the ladder represents the best possible life for you; and the bottom, the worst possible life for you. On which step of the ladder do you feel you personally stand at the present time?". Also called Cantril ladder of life.

    Satisfaction with Society

    The indicator measures the "percentage of people who are "very satisfied" or "fairly satisfied" with "the kind of society" they live in.

    Happy Planet Index rank order

    The HPI measures the extent to which countries deliver long, happy, sustainable lives for the people that live in them. The Index uses global data on life expectancy, experienced well-being and Ecological Footprint to calculate this.

    The index is an efficiency measure, it ranks countries on how many long and happy lives they produce per unit of environmental input.

    Social Progress Index

    The Social Progress Index is an aggregate index of social and environmental indicators that capture three dimensions of social progress: Basic Human Needs, Foundations of Wellbeing, and Opportunity. The Index measures social progress strictly using outcomes of success, not how much effort a country makes. For example, how much a country spends on healthcare is much less important than the health and wellness actually achieved by that country, which is what outcomes measure.
